Agus Hendrianto, a man from Magelang, Central Java, has successfully turned his hobby into a profitable venture through Nisa Mina Lobster. Initially, he simply enjoyed watching exotic lobsters swim in aquariums. But who would have thought that passion would lead him to a business that now fattens his wallet?
Back then, Agus only invested hundreds of thousands of rupiah to start. Now? His turnover has soared 20-fold! His market has also expanded, extending beyond Magelang to various regions across Indonesia, from Java, Bali, and Sumatra. From simply keeping lobsters for fun, people now line up to buy his ornamental lobsters.
At the beginning of his journey, Agus only had a few lobsters, which he kept in a small pond. His attention to detail, from water quality to their diet, has given him a deeper understanding of how to care for and raise these animals. He didn’t just rely on instinct, but also diligently sought information, exchanged experiences with fellow lobster enthusiasts, and conducted various experiments to achieve the best results.
Over time, he began to realize there was something different about his lobsters: brighter colors, faster growth, and greater durability. This attracted the attention of collectors and ornamental lobster enthusiasts. Gradually, requests began to come in, not only from within the city but also from various regions across Indonesia.
“Initially, I was just trying it out, not thinking about selling. But when a friend became interested and wanted to buy, I began to realize this could be a promising business opportunity,” said Agus.
